La Gendarmerie et Le Jardin d'Acclimatation

Bonjour mes amis!  The last two days have been action packed here in Paris.  My dearest, Rob, had to head home to the US yesterday morning and we were all feeling a little blue.  We got some schoolwork done and decided to take it easy in the afternoon.  Conrad went to the skatepark and Bryn was feeling a little sick so I ran out to pick up some soup.  When I returned to the apartment, Bryn was standing at the entrance talking with a young woman.  She showed me her police badge and my heart sank.  I first thought, 'he's injured or DEAD!' then 'he's done something naughty'.  She went on to explain that someone had stolen his cell phone and that they caught the thief.  Conrad was at the police station and I needed to retrieve him.  The cute, little undercover cop girl gave us directions to the station, hopped on her motorcycle, and sped away.
Bryn and I took the metro a couple of stops to our arrondissement's Commissariat and found Conrad. We was a bit shaken up still and was waiting to be interviewed.  They provided a translator and took down the story.  We were surprised to hear that the voleur was only 15.  He was over 6 feet tall and Conrad thought we was 19 or 20.  They explained he would spend 24 hours in jail and then meet with the judge who would determine his punishment.  We have noticed very few uniformed police since we got here but apparently there is a huge undercover presence.  I can't believe they caught the kid.  Conrad tried to pursue him and by yelling along the way, someone tried to trip up the thief.  He managed to get away but then another bystander called the police from his cellphone and next thing Conrad knew, a cop pulled up in his car and said he had the phone and the thief.  He then drove Conrad to the station.  Unfortunately, I think solo trips to the skatepark are not on the agenda anymore and Conrad was just beginning to make a couple friends there.

Today we decided to return to the Bois de Boulogne and go to the Jardin d'Acclimatation.  We thought the whole thing was geared towards very small children but my two managed to have a wonderful time.  From trampolines to a harnessed parcours course to riding lessons, an aviary, roller coaster, go karts, and much more, we will definitely be going back.
